Tatort – Erika Mustermann

The seemingly random death of a delivery driver in Berlin leads investigators Robert Karow and Susanne Bonard into a complex case of identity theft, illegal employment, and organized crime. The deceased was living under a stolen identity—his backpack, a crucial piece of evidence, has disappeared.
The trail leads to the Federal Printing Office, the “Fort Knox” of German documents. There, the driver Tomas Rey is said to have not only delivered food, but also been involved in a coup involving highly sensitive documents. Migrants like him are exploited by a network of identity forgers who use real data and state-of-the-art techniques to produce perfect fake passports.
Insider help and gaps in surveillance lead Karow and Bonard to a security employee: Annika Haupt, Tomas’ partner. Is she an accomplice or a victim?
The case shows how migrants are caught between hope and exploitation—and how even the most secure institutions can be infiltrated. “Tatort: Erika Mustermann” sheds light on murder, identity trafficking, and the dark side of a globalized world.
