In a blooming rapeseed field, the carefully arranged body of a woman is discovered. Her husband is in shock—she had left him and their children for young Linus Wagner, his former student. But Linus claims she had been locked up by her husband. Then he flees.

Shortly afterward, packages containing the victims’ clothing appear, while more women go missing. Their partners receive similar packages. Were the women abducted, or did they choose to disappear? Klaasen and her team are on the trail of a serial offender who systematically destroys families.

When a child is finally kidnapped, the situation spirals out of control. A discovery from the past leads the investigators to the right track—sparking a desperate race against time.

A murderer is on the loose in East Frisia. One who kills women in vacation homes. They all have one thing in common: they all had a tattoo of a so-called power animal, which has been removed and is nowhere to be found at the crime scenes. Is the murderer keeping the artwork as a trophy or does he have other plans for it?
While Rupert uses his private contacts to lure the main suspect out of the reserve beyond official investigation methods, Ann Kathrin Klaasen tries to save her husband Frank Weller from disaster.
He has a bad feeling because his daughter has a new boyfriend, an old acquaintance whom he deeply dislikes. When his daughter also gets such a tattoo, Weller digs deeper. And he finds what he is looking for! The new lover could well be the psychopathic serial killer he is looking for. Even though Jule declares her father to be paranoid and Ann is also skeptical, he is firmly convinced that he has to rescue his daughter from the clutches of a serial killer. He risks everything to do so and his relationship with his daughter is put to the test. To make matters worse, the BKA also gets involved, because the series of murders didn’t just start in East Frisia…

A few years have passed again when old friends Patrick and Malte meet up again.

Patrick turns up unexpectedly at Malte’s mobile home, which is parked on a cliff by the Baltic Sea in the middle of a deserted restricted area.
That evening, a concert by the band in which Vincent, Patrick’s son whose biological father is Malte, is due to take place nearby.

Patrick reminds his friend of the old vow that Malte will stay away from Vincent. The son should never find out that Patrick is not his real father.

But then Patrick makes a discovery that makes him abandon his plan to keep Malte away from Vincent.

Over the course of a day, a night and a morning, the two friends, who are both at late turning points in their lives, explore what expectations they still have, what they are prepared to risk and, above all, what is left of their friendship.

A fisherman discovers a dead body in the mudflats. At the same time, blackmailers deposit samples of biological warfare agents in a newspaper. This calls Inspector Ann Kathrin Klaasen onto the scene.

The drinking water throughout East Frisia is to be poisoned. The samples found are genuine, and what nobody realises is that the two cases are directly connected. During the investigation, her former boss, Ubbo Heide, becomes Ann Kathrin’s target. What does he know?

The investigation unearths a supposed triviality. Is the murderer of Ann Kathrin’s father, Wolfgang Steinhausen, still on the loose.

Ann Kathrin Klaasen and Frank Weller have made it: they get married in a small civil ceremony at the Norder Teemuseum. In the evening, there is an exuberant atmosphere at the traditional Easter bonfire on the beach. But the very next morning, CID chief Ubbo Heide has to call the couple back from their honeymoon: The charred remains of human bones protrude from the still-smoking ashes of the Easter bonfire.

When another body turns up in a children’s playground on Norderney, Klaasen and her colleagues find themselves in the middle of the hunt for the next serial offender.
